Copying documents out of the vault

Copying documents out of the vault creates uncontrolled, untracked files for other purposes.

To copy documents out of the vault:

1. Right-click the document to copy and click Copy Out on the shortcut menu. Click Copy Out and Open if you want to open the copy immediately in its native application. The CopyOut Wizard will appear, similar to the following figure:

2. Confirm or modify the destination directory and filename of the copy.
3. Click Next to proceed. The CopyOut Wizard (Step 2 of 2) page will appear, similar to the following figure.

4. Confirm the information shown is correct and click Finish. If the document has external references, you may choose to not copy them by selecting Skip in the Action list. The document is copied using the options you selected. If you chose the Copy Out and Open command, the copy is opened in its native application.
